THE BEER IS BACK!!!

Starting with the 2013 season, we will be utilizing our NEW tailgate area which is directly behind the River End along the river walk. On top of giving us the ability to FINALLY provide beer again at every tailgate, it will allow us to party together as a group like we once did, drink some killer beers, eat some rocking food, listen to some great bands, and when the times dictate, hold some really special events.

The best part about getting the beer back to the tailgates is there is no price change. The tailgates (beer, food, and all) are the same price as it has been in previous years: $10 for members / $12 for non-members.

The bottom line is we’re getting the band back together and the pre-game hype up is back for good! It’s time to have some fun before the games again and this is the spot where it all starts.

Important Tailgate Event Information

Can anyone attend the tailgates?

Absolutely.  Even though the new tailgate is behind the River End will have a fence around it, all are welcome.

How much does it cost?

Tailgates are $10 for SoB members and $12 for non-SoB members.  You can purchase tickets online at http://sonsofben.ticketleap.com

When should I sign up?

We always want people to sign-up as soon as they can.  When you sign-up early it helps us project attendance and order the proper quantities of food and beer as well as help us plan for the event in general.  You can always check to see what events have been posted at http://sonsofben.ticketleap.com

Is there an age restriction for the tailgates?

No.  However, if you purchase tickets for the tailgate, you will be asked to provide a valid photo ID to verify that you are of proper age to consume alcohol.  Wristbands are issued at the time you check in.  If you purchase a tailgate ticket for a minor, they will receive a different colored wristband identifying them as minors.

What’s on the menu?

The menu for the tailgates change for each event.  We generally have hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers at every event as a standard.  However, the we do bring in food for every tailgate as well to provide a very diverse menu selection.

What’s the beer selection?

The new tailgate area gives us the ability to finally have beer served at each and every event.  The beer is controlled and poured by Ovations and the selections are made prior to every event.  Trust us when we say that the selection will be VERY good.

How much food and beer can I have?

Generally, the food is all you can eat but we do order based on the projected attendance for the event so we do ask that you show some restraint from “loading up”.  For the beer, you can have as much as you like but be advised that we do monitor for to see if you may be “over indulging”.  That determination is made at the discretion of Sons of Ben and Ovations.  If we do have to make that call, we will simply ask you to call it a day with the beer.

Will food and beer be there if I get to the tailgate late?

While we do our best to project the amount of food and beer we need for each tailgate, we HIGHLY recommend you come to the tailgates early.  Depending on the event/game, a large turnout early can mean food and beer could run out before the end of the tailgate.  If you generally come early, you should be fine.  If you tend to arrive on the late side, please do not be surprised if the food, beer, or both are gone.

Can I bring my own beer to the tailgate?

The short answer is Yes.  However, since we are now covered under a liquor license, you will not be able to bring in your own alcohol to the fenced off area designated for the tailgate.  There will be an open area next to our tailgate where you can park your stuff and enjoy your beverages.  You still have free access in and out of the tailgate area but just can’t bring in your own alcohol.

How many people generally attend the tailgates?

It really depends on the game or event. We’ve had tailgates with as few as 100 people and we’ve had tailgates with as many as 1,000. Each tailgate is unique and will continue to be that way.

Can I store anything at the tailgate?

For the last two years, the tailgates were held in Lot B which was convenient to the parking lot.  Since the new area is behind the River End, we will have a 40′ storage container on site where we can store some items if you would like to leave them to pick up after the game.  The space in the container will be limited so it will be first come first server.  Sons of Ben WILL NOT be held responsible for any items left in the container after it is closed or for items that may be missing when you return.

Do you sell any SoB Gear at the tailgates?
